"Making something for the purpose of someone else may not be necessity exactly, but it's something close to it." or maybe in the choice between this and the alternative of whatever feelings you have for the someone/thing ending up stuck within you it MAY be a necessity !!!
i linger over this letter at times... thinking of a song out there that's been resonating with me absurdly deeply and it inspired me to make a little virtual ode/shrine for (my love for) it that i add to sometimes, it might feel a bit silly at times in the face of the state of this world, but really something beautiful about maintaining something like that
ohhh i love this framing of the gift as a way to release your feelings into the world!
what does your shrine to it look like? is it a collection of your feelings towards it?
I don't think it's silly at all / i think sometimes the silliest things are some of the most radically important to our humanity :) thank you for sharing your practice with me
basically a zine-layout page with a little collection of experiences & feelings related to it yeah :,) which i may add to yearly around its release-anniversary, but the page's only existed for a couple years yet so who knows in the very longterm...!
(dunno how to link in substack comments but its on my site which should b on my profile in here if very curious)
the world needs more of benevolent silliness truly
