2021 to 2022: Mutual Flourishing 🤲
my very late reflection on 2021 and setting my theme for 2022 (mutualism)
This post is my annual reflection, where I look back at the theme I chose last year and set an intention for a theme for the new year. Last year, I took on the theme of gambling, and this year I search for a space to capitalize on that gambling (collective risk-taking).
This year, I structured my reflection as a letter to my past self to reflect on all that’s happened this year and painted a forward-looking vision for where I want my attention for 2022. Check out some of my friends’ reflections in the same vein! (jacky, jasmine).
Some quick updates:
stay tuned 👀 for some exciting stuff coming out of my recent involvement with verses!
2021 wrapped doc to recap my year (also an experiment in protesting against data stockholm syndrome)
some fun projects I’ve participated in or experimented with the past few months
exquisite land: collective pixel art which I filled a couple tiles for. super cool project and bunch of people
amulets: Robin Sloan’s NFT project to create rare poems. I minted one that I thought was fun and wrote about it in my my 91st mini-essay installment
coda’s packs studio is open in beta to empower anyone to bring their data into Coda for manipulation and push it back out. I’m excited for how this might push forward the democratization of software creation and give people the ability to make magic
I’ve been thinking about what to do now that my 100 mini-essays project is done. I like this “one-a-day” forcing function to produce a lot of a specific sort of artifact and simmering around doing a poem-a-day experiment… Would love to hear your thoughts too :)
